Thanking Alexander for her "quite lovely letter," and sending "dearest love" to Alexander's Mammina, Lucia Gray Swett Alexander, as well as to Marina, and to Raffaelli and Angelo and their wives. Discussing Ruskin's health, noting that he has "taken a fit of caring for nothing, and what is worse of lazy bed-keeping." Also mentioning that Joanie (Joan Severn) is away in Scotland and that Ruskin "is nothing without her," and that he is trying "to show her a little how [he] love[s] her."
