Summary
Hoping "that time, as it passes may yet bring [Severn and Alexander] together," relating that Alexander "cannot tell [Severn] with how much pleasure [she] look[s] back on the few happy hours ... spent in [her] company." Sending condolences for the loss of Severn's brother-in-law, and continuing the discussion on Severn's daughter-in-law's "change of religion." Describing the improved health of Alexander's "Mammina," Lucia Gray Swett Alexander, and relating the death of her "dear old friend, Signor Bostolo Zanchetta." Also noting "how pleasant it used to be, when [Alexander] had [her] eye[sight], and could write to [Severn] freely as much as [she] pleased," and hoping that Severn will continue their correspondence, "even if [Alexander's] answers are not very satisfactory."
