Signed "dearest love always, from Sorella Francesca."
Summary
Concerning Severn's ill health, and discussing motherhood. Describing "how much the Mammina (Lucia Gray Swett Alexander) cares for every line of [Alexander's] drawing," and thanking Severn for offering to send from her collection some of Alexander's drawings. Asking Severn to keep (from Ruskin's estate?) "any little objects in gold, &c. ... and they will be a double reminder of [her] Fratello and [Mammina]." Expressing condolences over Severn's loss of three friends, noting also that most of Alexander's friends "are on the other side; and no new friends can ever begin to take their place." With a postscript on the fourth page apologizing for the envelope and the delay in sending the letter.
