Summary
Noting that the death of one unnamed friend and the illness of another have prevented Alexander from writing, as has Alexander's poor eyesight and the "the weather [which] has been very dark." Expressing concern over Severn's illness, and condoling with her about the death of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, reminding her to take comfort in thinking that "as one after another of our friends leaves us, the Father's house is filling up."
