Summary
Concerning the death of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, noting that "his friendship has been one of the great blessings of [Alexander's] life," and expressing gladness that Severn "insisted on having him laid where he wished to be [the Consiton churchyard], though it is very natural that the English should wish to have him in Westminster Abbey." Intending to send a little wreath of wild olives soon, and in the fall "to send a little rose bush to plant near his grave [though] it is against the law," and hoping that Alexander and Severn now "will be nearer to each other than ever."
