Summary
Describing the preparations for and travel to the Alexander's summer residence in Lugano, and noting that Alexander's "Mammina," Lucia Gray Swett Alexander, "seems uncommonly well" after the journey. Asking after the health of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, and requesting that Severn will tell Alexander when she may write to him, hoping "that the time may come soon, when he will be so strong that [her] letters cannot hurt him; at least, now and then."
