Summary
Discussing flowers and Alexander's terrace garden, and concerning the health of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, hoping that "the spring will come back to [England] soon, for the sake of [her] Fratello, before he begins to feel the worse for his confinement in the house." Also mentioning that Alexander's "Mammina," Lucia Gray Swett Alexander, "continues in her slow, steady improvement," and that the Alexanders are "trying to hear of some cool place not too far off" for their summer retreat, since their staying in Florence "is impossible; and a long journey is equally impossible."
