Summary
Concerning the improving mental health of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, noting that "even if this ray of light is only momentary, even if the clouds close again immediately... it is in itself so much to be thankful for." Expressing great pleasure that the anemones sent (by the 7 January post) had such beneficial effect on Ruskin. Enclosing a note for Ruskin, but leaving it unsealed so that Severn may first read it, and asking Severn to seal it if she decides to give it to him. Giving thanks for a message ("the first ... since last August") received from Ruskin.
