Part of a large collection of letters primarily from Francesca Alexander to Joan Severn. Items in this collection are described in individual records.

Summary
Discussing the birthday of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, and expressing sadness that "it was the first birth-day that he ever passed without a letter from [Alexander] in all these years." Alexander had not been keeping a "record of days" and was startled when "last Friday" her "eye fell on the day of the month, the 8th, and [she] remembered what day it was." Also discussing the health of Alexander's "Mammina," Lucia Gray Swett Alexander, and referencing Severn's intened (but recently cancelled?) trip to the Alexanders.
