Summary
Offering to change the word albatross to "any other trisyllable"; pointing out that the "long gap without illustration" that Furniss pointed out is "not longer than either of the 2 intervals next preceding"; emphasizing that he believes "the effect of connecting the book [Sylvie and Bruno] with Alice would be absolutely disastrous" and that he is trying "to get out of the old groove and to have no 'connecting link' whatsoever."
