Carlyle translated Goethe's poem "Symbolum" as "The Mason's Lodge"; this printing of his translation, which is missing the first stanza of the poem, includes numerous corrections in his hand and the following note: "Not the slightest objectn -- only don't misprint in this horrible way! Correct every one of these errata. -- T.C."
