Notes
A note in an unknown hand on p. 2 suggests that the letter is to Robson, Carlyle's printer. The letter may also be to someone at Chapman and Hall, possibly Frederic Chapman. Chapman and Hall published a 30-volume library edition of Carlyle's works in 1869.
