Summary
Complaining of "an ugly falsehood on the part of Wiley and Putnam in New York" regarding an edition of his Cromwell he believes they are publishing without permission; mentioning that [Ralph Waldo] Emerson sent him a letter on the matter; asking Chapman and Hall to deny that they gave Wiley and Putnam permission to print his book to "stamp them publicy for the hungry thievish hyaenas that they are"; asking him to contact Sotheby to determine who has two letters written by Oliver Cromwell that were auctioned there.
