Summary
Explaining that he is thinking of leaving Chapman and Hall to publish elsewhere because "a publication from which we were entitled to expect considerable results has proved a comparative failure"; offering to sign an agreement with Chapman and Hall; noting that his income "may be seriously affected by affairs in Italy"; wondering whether he will get back the money he paid out of the printing of his first book to buy steel plates. The letter mentions Isa Blagden.
