Notes
According to an article by Charles F. Jenkins, published in 1925 (see citation below) which includes a description of this set, this signature was cut from the title page of Middleton's Cicero. There is also a penciled notation of that assertion to the left of Lynch's signature.
Part of a collection of autograph letters by the Signers of the Declaration of Independence; see collection-level record for MA 554.1-60 for more information.
With two autograph letters signed by S[amuel] Gilman of Charleston to I.K. Tefft in Savannah and dated April 5 and May 2, 1845 concerning the Lynch signatures he has obtained for him.
With two photographs of a Lynch signature "Thomas Lynch 1770" accompanied by an auction catalog page from S.V. Henkels, Philadelphia, July 1, 1920 concerning a signature which is not in this collection. A penciled notation on the page indicates that signature was the property of Mr. C.F. Jenkins of Philadelphia in 1924 and later the property of Mr. John Garrett, Baltimore "ab. 1928 - still."
