Notes
"Friend I wrote this little page at one & fifty years of age. May it tell me what to do at twice fifty and twice two. These small verses [which] you see were composed [when?] nearly 1863 in the Street of Bouverie."
Dated "November 26, 1862" in an unknown hand; the "Street of Bouverie" is probably a reference to the Punch office at 27, Bouverie Street.
