With red wax seal, addressed to Miss Austen, Chawton, "By favour of Mr. Gray."
"March 1814" is written on the address panel in an unknown hand.
A few words are cut out at the bottom of p. 2.
The first half page is written on Saturday, March 5. "Sunday" appears in the second half of p. 1, "Monday" near the top of p. 4, and "Tuesday" near the middle of p. 5.
The address panel page includes a faint shopping list in pencil.
Forms part of a collection of 41 letters from Austen to her sister and two prints (MA 977.1-43).
