Summary
Reporting on ship positions; reporting that "nearly 1000 men has been seen, directly opposite to where the [HMS] Melpomene is stationed. She has been directed by the Admiral to follow your instructions in regard to the landing either by gaining ground to the right so as to have the left of the enemy immediately in your front, or by landing in two Divisions to attack both his flanks - or in short in such manner as your wish. He is further authorised to make use of his launches landing your Light Artillery with the first Division...".
