Summary
These notes accompanied the correspondence between Jane Austen and James Stanier Clarke acquired by the Morgan in 1925. This correspondence was in the possession of Austen's sister Cassandra before passing to her niece, Cassandra Esten Austen. The note with the 1842 postmark on the verso is probably in Cassandra Austen's hand.
