Summary
Begins: "Willy [William Butler Yeats, his son] is writing to Dean O'Regan on a question connected with [James Clarence] Mangan's life." States that Willy does not know O'Regan's address and "thinks of asking you to forward his letter -- so it occurred to me that I would write to you in his place." John O'Regan (1818-1898) was Archdeacon of County Kildare. The letter comments on the ill-health of his eldest daughter and wife, caused by "the terrible heats of a London summer," and tells Graves that "my son & daughters have the greatest affection for Dublin. They were just beginning to make friends when we had to leave in order to try my fortunes in London." Also reports on the successful sale of his recent art work to a number of magazines, commenting that "the competition is tremendous, which though good for art, is not good for artists."
