Summary
The letter and photographs document Hearst's extensive motor tour of Spain and Portugal with his wife and an unidentified couple. Most of the photographs, except the two in which Hearst appears, were probably taken by Hearst. Guy Brinton-Barham and his wife Marie had been on vacation in Europe with the Hearsts and had returned to California before them; the letter is a detailed account of the Hearsts' further travels after the Barhams' departure.
