Summary
A passionate letter admonishing his son for his unpaid debts and extravagance, and cautioning him to "save your money and do not be seduced by bad company and have a sacred fear of God." Quarenghi complains of his personal debts, telling his son: "I am writing to you again from Padua, please try to honour me with your behaviour, try to give me some consolation and do not make me succumb. Think that the length of my life is the only thing which can be useful to you." Quarenghi had thirteen children with two wives.
