Farmer and Henley collaborated on a dictionary of Slang published privately for subscribers in seven volumes from 1890-1904.
Written from "9 The Terrace, / Barnes, S.W." on stationery blind-embossed "1 Great College Street, / Westminster, S.W." which has been crossed through.
This letter is one of a small collection of eight letters from Henley to various recipients written between 1890 and 1897 ( MA 6409.1-8).

Summary: 

Concerning a dictionary being prepared by [John Stephen] Farmer; saying "As regards the Dictionary itself, I may as well say that I have nothing to do with its finances & that as yet I've made nothing by it. I have every wish to see it brought to an end, & so, I am sure has Mr. Farmer himself. What it wants, above all, is a publisher."
