Savile Clark writes "Prince of Wales Theatre / Christmas 1886" under the poem. Savile Clark's adaptation of the Alice books, "Alice in Wonderland: A Dream Play for Children," opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London on December 23, 1886. This poem may have been written around the time of the opening.
