Summary
Discussing his poem "The Fall of Carthage;" saying "...the lines descriptive of carthaginian wealth struck me as especially rich in effect and the end is undoubtedly powerfully simple. The last line I think perfect in its place. Thanks also much for the little bird poem which has something about it of the clear freshness of dawn;" adding that he will send him a copy of "London Docks" and "shall be delighted to submit Savonarola to you when finished."
