Summary
Thanking him for enclosing the reader's report; "It sounds as if a business man had been trying to write like a literary man - or perhaps literary men do write like that over there. Hewlett - being one of their contributors - is the only writer known to them who is a 'bit queer' & so they think I must imitate him : it is just as likely that he would imitate me;" asking how much he will be permitted to quote from Maeterlinck's plays; adding he will "have finished Maeterlinck soon after the end of the year. Do you think Methuen's would take a book on living poets from me after this Maeterlinck?"
