The poem is undated, however it is written from Heytesbury House which Sassoon lived in from 1933 until his death in 1967.
The poem is written on stationery embossed "Heytesbury House, / Wiltshire."

Summary
Being 3 drafts of a poem titled "Today"; two drafts consist of two 4-line stanzas while the third draft includes a 3rd 4-line stanza; on the verso of the draft with 3 stanzas there is a draft of an untitled poem that begins "My heart's desire no further his;" on the verso of one of the two-stanza drafts, is the manuscript for a poem he later titled "In Uniform" (MA 5141.70) but in this draft it has a first title which appears to be "Final" but it has been crossed through and retitled "Leave;" there is a single page with a draft of an untitled poem that appears to begin "Seas do not..." with the rest of the draft very difficult to decipher.
