Summary
Giving Pole the name of a "musical person" in California; discussing Dudley Ward and the "German case;" saying "I saw Dudley Ward when he returned from Berlin after the beginning of the war, a bit pro-German (till he read the White paper), & even helped him translate the German Blue Book (or whatever colour it was.). There is no German case. And they have made folly & wickedness more foolish & more wicked by their treatment of Belgium. I've seen Belgium & I know. I'm all in favour of shooting the rich & tyrannical here, beginning with Sir Edgar Speyer. First I shall wipe out the Prussians & their supporters. So should every decent Englishman.".
