Summary
Commenting on "Jerrold's bold & strong investigation of several war-books"; noting that he doesn't "quite like [Charles Edward] Montague, on account of Rough Justice, to be in the dock"; adding that R[obert] Graves's book is not "at all candid, though he hurls out his imputations with gusto"; declining to submit a story to Minchin's compilation of short stories about World War I: "My own dislike of fictions about the war is so animated, that I hardly like attempting to make up a story. Perhaps you had better leave me out, for I don't want to be half-hearted about it"; telling him he will write to [Siegfried] Sassoon with his request for a story soon.
