Summary
Concerning the fact that he had not endorsed two bank bills: "It is troublesome to have Money Transactions with those who are so little versed in them as myself. Had I allowed myself time for Consideration, it would have occurred to me that the Bills could not be regularly negotiable without my Indorsement. A Tradesman in this Town wanted Bills for Cash, & took them as I gave them, without recollecting or attending to the proper Form;" saying he will endorse all future bills and that the bill she mentioned has not been returned: "I hope therefore that the Sight of you has satisfied all Scruples, and has given it sufficient Credit in the Estimation of the Bill:holder, & that He has found means to satisfy the People at the Bank;" discussing some legal business and referring to Joseph Hill and Sir Thomas Hesketh's lawyer Thomas Hunt; asking to be remembered to her family and to Lady Harriet Hesketh; sending Mary Unwin's respects.
