Summary
A card with a photograph of the Whites' house in North Brooklin, Maine, reproduced on the front, with hand-drawn red ink border"; a printed poem by E.B. White, the first line of which is "Home is the place where the queer things are," signed "EBW" (probably in Katharine White's hand); and a two-age autograph note from Katharine White, thanking Louise for comments on E.B. White's Trumpet of the Swan, and saying, "Andy has no illusions about 'The Trumpet' and knows it is less good than 'Charlotte's Web' but we're glad the Times included it among the best eight juveniles of the year," mentioning Stuart Little and "Sendak's book," noting with pride that Roger Angell's book is also on the "Times Honor Roll," and saying that Andy has received many letters from parent of handicapped children in response to "Trumpet."
