Summary
Collection of fourteen letters from J. D. Salinger to his close friend Michael Mitchell, the graphic artist and designer of the dust jacket for The Catcher in the Rye. Collection consists of one autograph letter signed (MA 6094.4), one autograph postal card signed (MA 6094.9) and twelve typed letters signed. Most letters are accompanied by envelopes postmarked Windsor or White River Jct., Vt., but letters were probably written at Salinger's home in Cornish, N.H. Collection also includes six photographs (MA 6094.13-18) of Salinger's children Margaret and Matthew.
