Published pp. 112-115, with three omissions: (1) yesterday she could not write an account of the party because John wanted her to write his father; (2) John has torn the first two pages of her letter by mistake but she hopes her mother still can read them. She thinks that Reading is where Mrs. Seaton and Isabella stayed. "I would not have written you all this but I think you like it"; (3) she is sorry to hear of Major['s?] death; can scarcely write with her bad pen; has had a long letter from Mr. Ruskin, who is very well at Folkestone; is glad to hear that her father is better.
