Summary
Published pp. 110-112, with two omissions: (1) Mrs. Ruskin wishes her to ask whether better and cheaper napery could be obtained in Perth than in London and if so, whether Mrs. Gray could have it made. If Mr. Ruskin gets the house he is in treaty for, they would go into it, after their tour, for three years and would see little company. They would need sheets, blankets, table clothes, etc., for themselves, three servants, and guests. If her mother would get an estimate of the cost and take this trouble, she would be exceedingly obliged; (2) Lord Lansdoune said he hoped that Lady Lansdoune would have the pleasure of seeing us when she returned to town. Now she is going with John to buy plants for their garden. Yesterday they called on Lady James, who was out.
