Summary
Published pp. 96-97, with two omissions: (1) she hopes to find a letter at Killein telling them about the party after they left. She wishes that all other affairs would terminate as favourably, and hopes that things won't be as bad as her parents anticipate. Please write to her openly; (2) "Tell dear George I will not forget his interests... we shall see about him as soon as we possibly can." He seemed to feel the marriage deeply. May Sophia and Alice prove blessings; perhaps when they grow up, "something of your former prosperity will have returned." Her father should strengthen his trust in God, who has sent present misery for some wise purpose: his dejection breaks his health and undoes her mother.
