Summary
Saying he is happy that the day is at last fixed, and will attend the ceremony with his wife. She is right in saying that this is a time when man's plans and counsels are upset as well as his government. But what else can be expected when infidels despise divine authority? Were it not "for the small contemned & scattered bodies of sincere believers,... Society would not exist." But it is a great blessing that satisfactory arrangements have been made in the meantime. He knows she will bear up despite her sad thoughts. All is gain which draws us nearer to God.
