Reporting on her social activities: tonight another party at Lord Jeffrey's; yesterday, various callers, including Lady Trevelyan, with whom she had a long talk, in the evening, at Lady Murray's; on Monday, to Newington, where John will join her on Wednesday. Lord Cockburn does not wish her to leave. The Bethunes are with the Ruskins, and the Countess de Bois is expected; they have probably left France because they are great Royalists.
