Last half of letter only, published p. 47, with two omissions: (1) at beginning of page, he is concluding some remarks about his mother, apparently explaining that she "could hardly be present" [at their wedding?] "even here--she would feel too much." When he recited his prize poem, she could not come to the Oxford Theatre; (2) if his mother's quince preserve does not turn out well, Effie is to send some when they go to France.
