Published pp. 40-42, with several words inadvertently omitted, together with slight pen sketch and concluding passage: Miss Gray would be surprised could she see how well Mr. Macdonald looks "after his rough Highland life." He himself does not "so well bear being wet through every day," and has gained "in strength more than in appearance." He thanks her for forgiving his rudeness. After Thursday, the 23rd, his address will be Pitlochrie.
