Summary
Saying she has written her father, requesting permission to come home; she does not fell quite well and the 80 steps up and down to her room tire her dreadfully; visiting the Pagets would be so painful that she prefers not to go. At a splendid review she has seen the Queen, the Duke of Wellington, and the Grand Duke Constantine. On the whole she likes the Gardners "but after being with the Ruskins it makes me rather particular." They are much too fond of good dinners. "Snob" is taking a few holidays in her honour and is most particular in his dress. He is now sitting "in grande toilette" waiting to walk with her and his sister.
