Published pp. 30-31, with editorial changes and five omissions: (1) a statement of her plans, about which her mother seems to be confused. Mrs. Cockburn knows many people and is "admirable... to go about with"; (4) comments on Perth acquaintances mentioned in a note from George; her hope that Prizie (Mr. Tasker) will call on her after the 18th; her plans to visit the Pagets and the Potters still uncertain; (5) farewells, with hope that mother will send a birthday letter.
