Published pp. 28ff. with editorial changes and three omissions: (1) is postponing a letter to her brother George; (2) comment on a friend they returned to school; (3) has called on Mary Bolding; wishes George to arrange for "snob" [Mr. Gardner?] to call on her and father to arrange for her to call on the Gadesdens in Ewell; the Pagets wish her to stay with them after the 12th. She approves of the Denmark Hill "cuisine" and Mrs. Ruskin approves of her "toilette"; "she says I am well dressed without being at all fine or extravagant." Responses to local news in her mother's letter and messages to children. She must stop because "Mrs. Ruskin is carrying on a long theological dispute with a young lady."
