Description:
1 item (12 p.) ; 17.9 cm.
Summary:
Answering Mrs. Gray's inquiry by saying she has the highest praise for the Miss Ainsworths. The school life is much more carefully planned than during the Miss Byerleys' last year. Though she can sympathize with Effie's difficulties, she thinks they will lessen. She and Mr. Parker both believe that Effie needs the "regular drudgery of school lessons" after "the liberty and large range she has so long enjoyed." Her "mind is too forward for her years, & too sensitive & excitable." Another year of "regular plodding thro' ground work" would "perhaps prove the best antidote," and "would be well bestowed."
Provenance:
Forms part of the Bowerswell papers, a collection of papers of Euphemia Chalmers Gray Millais.
