Summary
Saying that despite illness, his health has improved during travels he has not especially enjoyed. He found the Ruskins at his Inn in Turin and dined with them twice. Phemy is a great favorite with them. Young Mr. Ruskin looks very delicate, with symptoms like those which he had but with a naturally weaker frame. Mr. Ruskin was most kind. Leaving Turin, he visited the long persecuted Protestants in the Waldensian valleys, to whom Mr. Ruskin sent 5 Napoleons; their history and ways at present. "It is to be hoped they may be yet under God the means of spreading the truth in these benighted countries."
