Summary
Giving answers to Mrs. Gray's questions: she has heard from Miss Byerley about Effie's voice and singing. Miss Byerley indicates that Effie's voice is clear and beautiful in tone, but weak at present; that it must not be urged too much, though Effie is "in strong health" and "never seems tried after the effort." She is now taking regular lessons. Miss Byerley says that Effie "danced beautifully" at Mrs. Torres's Ball. On June 24, they will all separate for the holidays. News of her own family. "How beautiful the view from Kinnoul Hill must be on such a day as this."
