Summary
Giving her impressions of Effie as a "fine intelligent girl, quick at learning," who is improving in matters about which her parents seemed well aware. Miss Byerley gave her advice on the subject of order before she left to visit the Parkers, Mrs. Parke being a "lover of order." Effie is getting on very well in all her studies and gained the Second Prize for Attention. She appears to be always happy and energetic, ready for play or for work. Miss Byerley is glad that Mrs. Gray has decided to have Effie remain under the Miss Ainsworths.
