Summary
Saying that tonight his son read a little of Kingsley's Water Babies to them--"very clever." Westward Ho he found tiresome. But to him there is nothing like Dickens: "I am promoting digestion over Bleak House. Our son returned on Wedy Thank God quite well." If all be well, George Richmond and the Simons dine with them, at 6, Tuesday next. If Mr. Harrison can join them, they will be glad. He has often wished to have the pleasure of seeing Mr. Todd again, "but since Mrs. Ruskin's accident & my own increasing local malady we have ceased to have dinner company & I cannot get Mrs. R to come to Table if she hears of more than four being at it."
