Reporting that Mrs. Ruskin's health is better, a hurricane blows, and fishing boats are in trouble. They have had a daily letter from Ruskin since he reached Geneva on May 26th. No one has questioned the proofs. As to the book, "there are pieces for Blackwood to ridicule & pieces no Blackwood will ever lessen the value of. The Swiss character... is an astonishing piece of close & penetrative writing... The end of Chaptr on Leaves motionless & lichens is very grand, & a great deal more."
