Summary
Saying that he has opened Mr. Harrison's letter, John having left at 11 for Calais, apparently satisfied that he had given all the printer could want for a perfect volume--"& I hope to see very soon a Volume to delight many to annoy some to get considerably praised & sufficiently abused as has been the case with the 4 Volumes already out--my son has placed himself beyond the reach of either praise or censure & I question if he will read or for a moment think of any review of his book, resembling happily in this a man whom he loves, Sir W. Scott." He and Mrs. Ruskin intend "to remain here a fortnight--the weather is lovely but the sky has another aspect to us since yesterday."
