Saying that "John" has "particular reasons" for asking Mr. Harrison to keep "strictly confidential" the "sheets of Lectures going through the press" [Political Economy of Art, issued 3 December 1857]. "P. Economy is a new walk & he differs & makes startling assertions not to be comprehended without context, & he does not wish any one to see a part till all is before the public. Punch took a sentence from a Report in Manchr paper & totally misunderstood it."
